Tuesday 22nd January 2013.

Dear all,

Please see message below received from Brighton and Hove local authority.

Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service have made us aware of an accidental discharge of a gas from a factory in Rouen, France, that has reached East Sussex. The gas has an unpleasant smell but is not toxic and there is no danger to the public. Schools are advised that they can operate as normal.

The leak in France is still being worked on, however the gas should dispel naturally.

There is a strong stench and although we have been told that it is safe, we do not know how long it will take to dispel from our area so we are giving parents/carers the option to collect their children from now.  Please note that this option to collect early only applies to the Bilingual Primary School pupils.

As a result there will be no after school club.

The school buses will be leaving at the normal time.

If you are collecting your child before lunch and they are having a school lunch, please could you send us an email so that we can amend our numbers accordingly.

Many thanks and apologies for any inconvenience,

 Thank you

 The BPS Team
